Hello thar! I'm an 18 year old gay female-the basics.
I'm an introvert who loves reading, observing, and thinking. I'm still discovering who I am and every day I learn a little bit more. I regularly post my thoughts on here as they come to me, this blog is sort of a way to get my thoughts out of my head.

Stuff I like: Open-minded non-judgmental people, ska, metal, Streetlight Manifesto, puppies and kitties (who doesn't?), new places, drums and guitar, insight, deep thinking, introspection, thought-provoking conversations/books, and being goofy. Oh and girls ;)

Stuff I don't like: Spiders, meanies, tanning salons, bigots, the radio/MTV, etc

Ask me to know more :)

Lesson learned:

I can do hard things without being hard on myself. I used to think i could only make progress by following a strict routine and pushing myself further every day. Not surprisingly, this ended in a very unproductive burnout. Now, I’m making progress by taking it easy and enjoying what I’m doing. I take things less seriously now and experience less stress, even though my workload has been high. I guess what I’ve learned is always nudge yourself in the right direction. Sometimes you have to push yourself, but nothing is worth going past your breaking point. Also, never ever under any circumstances try to be perfect. Seriously, don’t.

A Nice Place To Camp. On Your Left Is Italy, And On The Right Is France

I used to think that to become free you had to practice like a samurai warrior, but now I understand that you have to practice like a devoted mother of a newborn child. It takes the same energy but has a completely different quality. It’s compassion and presence rather than having to defeat the enemy in battle.

And when the event, the big change in your life, is simply an insight - isn’t that a strange thing? That absolutely nothing changes except that you see things differently and that you’re less fearful and less anxious and generally stronger as a result: isn’t it amazing that a completely invisible thing in your head can feel realer than anything you’ve experienced before? You see things more clearly and you know that you’re seeing them more clearly. And it comes to you that this is what it means to love life, this is all that anybody who talks seriously about God is ever talking about. Moments like this.

Always have the highest bar for yourself. Wake up everyday and no matter how crappy you feel, want to change something for the better. Do something that makes someone happy. Create something that inspires someone. Be someone’s light when they are hopeless.
